Rustic, Santa Fe Inspired Wedding: Laura + Jon

Rustic, Santa Fe Inspired Wedding: Laura + Jon

Today's wedding seriously proves that your ideas don't always have to perfectly match in order to create fun + whimsical (but still cohesive) look for your day. Laura + Jon describe their wedding décor as 'organized chaos': think materials like yarn, wood, terracotta + twine mingling with wildflowers, boho furniture + lots of patterned textiles. Color was key, and a palette of cream, burnt orange, turquoise, deep purple and mustard yellow felt just right. Laura gives us all the background on why they went with a rustic, Santa Fe look for their day below:

Neither of us being super traditional, we wanted something that felt less wedding-y and more us. Me being from Albuquerque and him coming from a ranch-style home in the Midwest, we knew this look would be right for us. The basics were wood and metal mixed with colorful wildflowers, turquoise stones and hand-crafted touches like hand-painted terracotta pots and wood-burned logos. Every item of decor was picked separately so it didn't match but it all fit together. We had lawn games and blankets, signature cocktails, fire pits, and our favorite desserts. We wanted it to feel like a big celebration!

Thanks so much to Le' Marie Events, who helped L + J put their design ideas into action, and to Christopher from Next to Me Studios for sharing his gorgeous photos with us today!

Laura wore one of the most cheerful flower crowns we've seen! The handiwork of Seven Stems Floral Design.

^^ We ADORE that happy photo of Laura + her ladies! Don't you? ^^

Their photog, Christopher, shares a bit about the reception setting: The centerpiece vessels were hand-picked from various antique shops and furniture stores that they shopped for themselves. All of them were placed on wood slices that were wood burned with their custom wedding logo. The primary centerpiece vessels were filled with wildflowers and then surounded with tin-punched votives and glass bottles that we hand-wrapped in yarn in our wedding colors, all in different shapes and sizes. To finish, turquoise stones were scattered around the table tops.

And, well, we just love how it all turned out! Get a similar look for YOUR day by shopping this colorful wedding below:
