Elegant Afternoon Reception

Elegant Afternoon Reception

For those looking for something slightly different to the traditional 'sit down, three course, with a desert table' kind of reception, this shoot offers the perfect inspiration. A gorgeous afternoon tea for your closest friends and family is sure to hit the spot!

The central London venue, One Marylebone, was filled with flawless details planned by Extraordinary Days Events. Get ready for some super sweet elegant afternoon reception ideas in the full gallery here, captured by Rupa Photography and Steve Shipman.

Purple Flowers For Every Season

One Marylebone, with its floor to ceiling arched windows, allowed for as much natural light as the season could boast, whilst Nadia Rae Afternoon Tea transformed the table into a feast of decadent delights that was in keeping with the warm and bold choice of a rich purple and green color palette. Tabledressers assisted us in keeping decor to a minimum as to not distract from the food, however we couldn't help but be a little playful with the use of cake stands for some 'time for tea' arrangements by Scarlet and Violet. Euphoric Flowers designed picture perfect buttonholes and a bridal bouquet with a summer mix of Verbena, Penstemon, Dahlias and Flowering Mint. To achieve a similar color palette in the winter months Simon suggests Lisianthus, purple ornamental cabbages and bloom chrysanthemums.

Reception Alternative: Afternoon Tea

As a wedding planner, Extraordinary Days was excited to come on board the photo shoot because an afternoon tea is a perfect alternative to a traditional three course dinner without having to compromise too much on tradition. You can still have three courses but with an exciting change. Alternatively, such a grand tea can serve as a fantastic event for guests the day before the wedding to extend festivities. No matter how you incorporate a tea into your wedding, you should work closely with an excellent caterer, such as Nadia Rae Afternoon Tea who created the tea for this shoot, to tailor your food choices to the current season and even the color scheme. She worked with Mandy from Number 12 Creative who did the food styling for her creations. Full Circle Wedding Films captured the essence of One Marylebone, the excitement of the photo shoot, and beauty of the bride and groom perfectly in the short film below.
