Sophie + Jordan's love story is definitely a tale of fate! They have always had a connection, starting with their first meeting way back in 1st grade in Phoenix. Cuteness, right? It just took another 20-something years for them to officially become a couple...no big deal! We had to know more, and the girls from GATHER Events had alllll the details, so we'll let them take it away!
Sophie and Jordan knew each other growing up and attended high school together. While there was always a mutual pull towards one another, circumstances kept them from dating. Eventually, they both left for college: Jordan to Chicago and Sophie to California. After college, Jordan moved to San Francisco before settling in LA, coincidentally where Sophie was attending grad school. They reconnected, this time without the obstacles of distance and other relationships. And that's when it all happened!Does that story have you believing in destiny yet?! We always say, all you need is a bundle of peonies + some jasmine vine! Ok, we don't always say that, but we're thinking we should. Sophie's bouquet by Honey & Poppies was so classically perfect...
Sophie's super adorbs British nieces, Lilly +Poppy (we die!), served as the flower girls, wore velvet blazers + tulle skirts and carried a "Here Comes The Bride" banner from BHLDN.
Sophie + Jordan gave each of their 130 guests a hand-written note which also served as their escort cards.
GATHER Events tells us, When they first started dating, they spent lots of time together on Sophie's couch talking about life, eating macarons and watching Gossip Girl. It was fitting then that, after Jordan made a 1-day round trip commute to Phoenix to get the blessing of Sophie's parents, he popped the question on that very couch where their relationship had blossomed.
As a subtle nod to the couple's love of Gossip Girl, Mr. Boddington's Studio incorporated a custom pale pink XOXO pattern into their invitation suite. The pattern showed up throughout the event paper goods as well.
The XOXO sentiment was echoed less subtly through the giant marquee sign we had custom made for the welcome and dessert table! See more in the video below by Brinton Films!
