What's not to love about a wedding filled to the brim with metallics, glitter, sunshine and love?

WWW readers Rose and Ben tied the knot in March last year. They had the perfect Spring day at their venue; The Hoste in Norfolk. Their whole day was super beautiful, with so so many personal touches and details. From Ben walking Rose down the aisle to Rose's home baked wedding cakes and the illustrated place names.

Rose donned Monique Lhuillier and some seriously amazing glitter heels, plus her up do is so very chic. I adore the dessert table, gold balloons and pretty blooms.

Thanks so very much to the fabulous Katherine Ashdown Photography for sharing these images today.

THE PROPOSAL | We'd been together for 18 months when we agreed we wanted to get married. I'm not a fan of surprises so Ben was under strict instructions not to propose! We were up in Norfolk one weekend, and realised that was where we wanted to get married, and found the perfect venue very quickly. We had decided to have a very small wedding but it grew quickly once we started planning. We knew we wanted to get married quite quickly and booked the wedding for 29 th March, 2 days after my 30 th Birthday, as a double celebration.

THE VENUE | We chose The Hoste immediately without even looking at any others. We wanted somewhere in the village of Burnham Market as it's such a special place for us. Ben's parents have a cottage there and we have always loved our visits to Norfolk. The village church was perfect, and the Reverend was so kind and helpful, we knew it was the right option. The Hoste was the perfect, relaxed venue that we wanted, we were very lucky.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was by Monique Lhuillier from Browns Bride in London. The design is called Azure.

My Mum made a little jacket with butterfly sleeves to match the dress for the church service, I loved this style as I didn't want anything too tight or restrictive. Ben had diamond earrings made for me by the same jewellery designer who made my engagement ring as a wedding gift, which I wore on the day. My headpiece was made by Lila and was made of clay roses with antiqued gold leaf to tie in the gold theme.

I have three very thin wedding bands, so I have the option of stacking them.

I have tiny feet so I bought my shoes from 'Pretty Small Shoes' and matched them with a bag from Anya Hindmarch.

FINDING THE DRESS | I absolutely fell in love with it. I loved that it was traditional but a little unusual, the lace was romantic and the tulle helped it feel more in-formal. I also loved how 'white' it was, it was only just off-white instead of ivory.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Ben had a suit made (complete with our initials on the inside pocket and QPR written under the collar!) The groomsmen wore pale gold ties and spotty socks from J.Crew.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had a traditional church service in a tiny rural church.

My niece Scout was our flower girl. She was only a year old at the time and was just about walking, but not quite, so she had a little cart to help her up the aisle. Everyone said it was the cutest start to a wedding.

My step father sang during the signing of the register and we walked out to the Wannadies 'You and Me Song' played by the string quartet.

Our Reverend was wonderful, he really took the time to get to know Ben and me and asked about our lives together and our careers, noting Ben's work in natural disaster risk management. He gave a very personal address during the service, and after witnessing me in full wedding planning mode, commented that Ben had found his 'very own little whirlwind'.

My Dad died in my teens so Ben met me at the end of the aisle and walked me up. To us, it signified starting out on our journey together.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I saw a wedding photographed by our photographer with only one bridesmaid and thought that was a lovely idea, as we wanted our wedding to be intimate and relaxed. We chose Melody's dress from Monsoon and I also found a dress for my flowergirl Scout in the same shop. It was a sort of mini version of mine, lace on top and a tulle skirt. I also made Scout a little white wand with ribbons and bells on the end, as she was a little young for a bouquet. My mum made a replica of her outfit on a doll which I gave to her as a gift, complete with a mini wand!

Melody's dress had lace detail to match my dress and she loved the shape. The nice thing about having only one bridesmaid is they can choose a dress they really love. I gave her a bespoke Anya Hindmarch bag as a gift on the day.

THE FLOWERS | As well as Norfolk we also visit Tuscany regularly and wanted to bring a little bit of Italy to the church, so we hired olive trees to line the aisle. We kept two as a memento for our London garden. I love Peonies but March was a little early for them, so I had white hydrangeas, rununculus and lily of the valley in my bouquet. Melody had antique pink roses. The groomsmen had antique pink roses and rosemary and Ben had lily of the valley and rosemary, all wrapped in twine to tie in with the theme.

We had all white arrangements with antirrhynum, gypsophila, hydrangeas, lilys and rununculus at the reception. I love white flowers, they are so fresh and clean and have such a cloud-like, blousy feel. That was the look I wanted for the wedding.

THE CAKE | I made the cakes, I love baking and really enjoyed designing and creating them. There were 3 cakes, each accented with white sugar roses and hydrangeas and finished with gold leaf and ribbon.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We saw Katherine Ashdown's work and fell in love with it. It's always so full of light and she helped us plan some really fun and quirky shots.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We loved the juxtaposition of metallics and natural materials and chose kraft papers, hessians and twine with accents of whites and gold. We also had fun with gold glitter to celebrate the fact it was a wintery wedding and to keep it feeling youthful

We bought honeycomb paper balls to hang from the ceiling of the reception to add an extra dimension. We also decorated a fun photo-booth with tissue tassels and photo props (bought from etsy). We designed a sweet table which featured gold champagne lolly pops, elderflower marshmallows, artisan chocolates, meringues and the wedding cakes, along with various goodies for our guests to enjoy.

We made our stationery by having bespoke stamps made up which we printed in white ink onto brown card. We used gold glitter and twine as accents, they came out beautifully!

We decorated our tables with white floral centre pieces at different levels. We made the table name signs using cardboard decoupage letters and decorating them with gold leaf. They were named after our favourite ski runs in Colorado and our table was called Forever. We also scattered bespoke cootie-catchers on the tables featuring wedding related questions, conversation starters and details of the day hidden inside.

Ben's dad is the political cartoonist for The Times and he created wonderful watercolour word-play place names for each guest, which we put on mini easels. Mine was a painting of a rose and a B with two rooks.

We had bespoke temporary tattoos made with our names and the date on anchors and roses. Guests loved them, especially after a few drinks in the evening. First they were on wrists but by the end of the night some were sporting them on their foreheads.

We made little flags for the cocktails saying 'Hurrah' and 'Yippee' which we positioned on the bar. We added gold glitter to Ikea votives to tie them in with the theme.

We made a Pinata in a diamond shape in whites and golds to match our colour theme. Inside were gold sweets, glitter and badges which said 'Team Bride' or 'Team Groom' with the date. It was fun seeing everyone wearing them when we entered the room to take our seats. We took a slow shutter speed photo at night, with sparklers all around us.

Our table plan was written on Ben's mum's vintage mirror. We used a vintage bike with hydrangeas in the basket and gold balloons to direct guests to the reception. We created a mini cigar bar with a sign saying 'Benny's Cigar Bar' and made bespoke cigar wraps with our names on. They were a hit with the men in the evening.

We added little 'wrap up warm' tags to Ikea throws for guests to snuggle up into in the evening in the courtyard. We hired floating lanterns to be strung across the courtyard which looked beautiful both during the day and the evening. We used Ben's late grandfather's crocket set on the lawn. We tied ribbon and suspended jam jars of flowers from a tree in the garden.

We made and decorated individual confetti holders using glassline envelopes.

THE HONEYMOON | We visited New England and East coast America for 3 weeks, including Vermont, Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, New York and Washington.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | When we walked out of the church as husband and wife Ben gave me the biggest hug, we were both pretty emotional and it's a moment we'll never forget.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy the planning process and involve loved ones in as many aspects as possible, it makes it so special to have everyone involved.
