Can't Afford It? Get Over It! An Allure Gown for Under $1600 - The Broke-Ass Bride: Bad-Ass Inspiration on a Broke-Ass Budget

Happy Thursday, BABs! Today's CAI/GOI request comes from reader Lauren, who commented on this previous post asking for help finding an Allure 9117 look-alike for under $1600. She wrote:

"Im in love with the Allure 9117. I love the scalloped hemline, all-over lace, covered buttons all the way down the back, and the chapel length train. With alterations it will be about 1600$ leaving no money for shoes, accessories, a beaded belt, or a veil! My budget is about 1600$ total. HELP!!!! I like David Tutera for Mon Cheri, Allure, and Mori lee."

It's awesome that you are keeping your total wardrobe budget in mind, Lauren; it's easy to forget the added costs of alterations, shoes, and accessories. Kudos for being on top of things!

The Allure 9117 is a beauty, for sure. The all-over lace is lovely, and the buttons all the way down the back (to the floor!) are definitely something you don't see very often. Before I show you what I've found across the interwebs for scalloped laced, buttoned, chapel-length, strapless gowns, I did also want to share that if you happen to be a size 12 (label, 8-10 street size), there is a new, unworn Allure 9117 on Tradesy for $800. If that doesn't work, check out the alternatives I've found for you below.

Alright, Lauren, what do you think? That last gown on the list could be Allure 9117's twin sister! And it's priced just low enough that you should still have enough cash leftover to do some alterations and pick up your belt and shoes (be on the lookout for coupons and sales to help keep your budget in check even more). Splurge a little, save a little. It's a Broke-Ass way of life!

*As always, please do your own research before buying a gown online. Team Broke-Ass is here to provide you with inspiration and resources, but it is up to the consumer to know what they're purchasing.
