Oh the style, the love, the pretty. This wedding is just perfection.

WWW readers Lauren and Mike were married on the May 2 ^nd 2015 and held their reception at North Hidden Barn in Hungerford. They had a simple yet chic style for their day, with white blooms throughout and a pop of colour from Mike's vibrant blue suit and the mint bridesmaid dresses. The rustic barn was decked out in fairy lights, pom poms and mismatched china for the afternoon tea. Talking of food the pizza sounded so delicious and that naked sponge cake must have gone down a treat.

Lauren looked sensational in her romantic gown by Patrick Casey, which she teamed with delicate veil and lush gold Christian Louboutin heels. WOW indeed.

THE PROPOSAL | Mike planned a 'spontaneous' trip down to a very special place and Lauren did not suspect a thing!! A small village in Cornwall where Lauren has been taking family holidays for 25 years, and more recently it has been a weekend destination for them as a couple, was where we headed on a grey August day. Overlooking the sea, Mike very cleverly asked to take a picture of Lauren and got down on one knee to get the best photo, and then followed it by a proposal. There were lots of things he wanted to say, but he was too nervous (and even forgot to open the box)!

THE VISION | The idea from the beginning was a very casual country wedding. We loved the idea of a very relaxed celebration that was all about having our friends and family together to party more than anything else.

From very early on we knew finding a venue might be a bit of a challenge. Our guest list was going to be 150+ and we knew we wanted to choose our own caterers as opposed to using those that came with the venue. We also had a church in mind, so this was the beginning of the vision.

We decided we wanted to have a DJ in the evening so we could have a good dance, but wanted some form of live music so had a singer for the reception drinks which worked really well.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Lauren very much took the lead with the planning - she had the time and lots of ideas. Mike had a lot to contribute but was happy with Lauren planning her dream day. Most things were surprisingly easy to agree on... which was a good sign!

BUDGET | Overall we spent £32,000.

THE VENUE | We chose a church wedding in the village where Mike grew up, followed by a barn in Hungerford. North Hidden Barn is a great space in the middle of nowhere. It was a complete DIY project as the barn was just a shell with everything needing to be sourced to turn it into a wedding venue. Lauren had a great time choosing the decorations and all the details.

The distance between the church and the barn was further than planned, but with a 45 minute drive to contend with, we decided to make this all part of the day and made a playlist for our guests to enjoy on the journey.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress was a beautiful Patrick Casey dress called Prudence. Patrick Casey is an Irish designer and there are not many places you can get his dresses from in the UK. It was a very comfortable and floaty style with a vintage/art deco feel.

The shoes were gold Louboutins - a t-bar with a good size heel which Lauren loves! And great because they can be worn again.

FINDING THE DRESS | Shopping for the dress was as fun as expected. Lauren, along with her Mum and sisters, spent one day visiting a few shops with the aim to establish the style that suited best and from there found some designers shops which stocked this style.

The next trip was to the most perfect shop in a small village in Sussex. After trying on a few dresses, Patrick Casey had a couple that Lauren loved. It wasn't the moment of finding 'the one' that some brides experience but Lauren was pretty sure she had found her dress.

Another visit and it was decision made. It was perfect - simple, comfortable and stunning. So soft and now all the accessories and shoes could be chosen!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Mike decided to have a bespoke suit made. He loved the idea of wearing blue, and opted for a slightly brighter blue compared to the usher's suits which were hired- so he could stand out without being too different. Mike chose a 3 piece suit and matched it with a grey tie.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Being a church wedding we stuck to traditional but well known hymns, including All Things Bright and Beautiful and Sing Hosanna. Our readings included a bible reading Corinthians, and also a more light hearted reading and poem about marriage and friendship.

Mike and Lauren had never really had a song so they chose one specifically for their first dance - deciding on 'Marry Me' by Train. A very slow song for a gentle dance before the dance floor became the hub of the evening.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | With big families and lots of close friends, Lauren had 7 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls. The head bridesmaids were Lauren's 2 sisters and they did a great job helping Lauren prepare for the day, as well as planning a very fun hen do for Lauren. With so many of them, the priority finding a dress, was all about getting a style and shape that suited everyone as much as possible. With no set colour theme we had more choice and finally decided on a mint green prom style dress. It was teamed with grey shoes and wraps for an extra layer in case it was chilly (and it was!!).

THE FLOWERS | We chose a florist, Jodie at the Little Violet, that our friends had used for their wedding as she did such a good job. Lauren had a set idea of the flowers she wanted and the style of the bouquet was to be very natural and a 'gathered' style. The bridesmaids had simple gypsophila. Mike and the ushers buttonholes matched and Lauren did the flowers in the venue. These too were gypsophila in vintage jugs, milk churns and glass jars.

THE CAKE | We served an afternoon tea so we didn't feel we needed a big cake. We chose to have a naked cake to go with the rustic feel of the venue, and it sat on a log with flowers and a simple topper to decorate. Laura, our baker, was great at helping us decide, giving us all the relevant pieces of advice and making suggestions but happy for us to make final decisions! The flowers for the cake, also by the florist Jodie, really finished off the whole look and helped make the cake seem more prominent.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The lovely Amy B was there to capture the day in photos. We had seen a friend of a friend's wedding photos and loved them - very documentary style. When we initially met with Amy we loved everything she showed us too and are so happy with her work. She fitted in on the day, capturing the day perfectly!

We had many comments about how great she was, and how comfortable she made everyone feel - we hardly noticed she was there!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | The day was all about the details - so many of them. Lauren had collected jam jars and been decorating them with lace/hessian/twine in the year running up to the day. Also, along with some helpers, collected vintage mis-match champagne glasses for the day. The table centres weren't all the same but a mix of jugs and milk churns with flowers, and some chunky glass candle sticks.

Lighting was really important in the venue, so 600m of fairy lights and some big star lights helped brighten the barn. We also decorated with lots of pompoms in grey, white and mint green. The barn had such high ceilings, we really had to fill the height as much as we could.

While the reception drinks were being drunk, we had some live music and also an artist doing caricatures which was really fun.

Lauren very much enjoyed the planning. We wanted to have an afternoon tea, so our caterers provided amazing canapés with reception drinks, followed by a lovely afternoon tea on lovely mis-match china. The day is so exciting; the only regret is that we couldn't eat much of it! In the evening we had a pizza van feed our hungry guests, now that they had worked up an appetite on the dancefloor! The pizzas were quite possibly the thing that guests commented on most during and after the day.

Lauren's brother is a designer and was able to help with all the stationery. Save the Dates, Invitations, table names and other bits on the day could all follow the same theme and included a hashtag. We cannot recommend enough having a hashtag on social media for the day, as it is so great to be able to search and see lots of photos that guests have uploaded all in one place!

THE HONEYMOON | A trip of a lifetime was planned for straight after the wedding, heading to Borneo and Bali. Travelling straight to Borneo for a few relaxed days followed by 5 days in 2 locations trekking the rainforest and animal spotting from the river was full on, but definitely very special and memorable.

Bali offered a far more relaxed time, where Mike and Lauren could relax and over indulge.

It is certainly a trip that won't ever be forgotten and it was a great way to start married life.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The pizza caterers left some pizza for Mike and Lauren to enjoy once the craziness was over - and they very much enjoyed tucking into it just the 2 of them once they got back to their hotel and could talk about the amazing day they had!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Accept from very early on that you will not please all of your guests and everyone will have an opinion, which can mainly be ignored! Planning is tough but it is your day, so make it the day you want!
