What goes on in the mind of Moschino designer Jeremy Scott?
Right?

We didn't get into all that, but we did have a great emailed conversation about the need now/buy now universe he's created, and the inspiration and icons behind it-and what he loves about watching it all go down each season.

The Thread: What was the moment that inspired and informed this season's capsule collection?
Jeremy Scott: I was thinking about the streets of New York City and how much construction is going on and then taking the construction theme further with tools and creating tool prints-and hence theinterlocking clamps in the collection.

Who are the icons and It girls you imagine wearing and using it?
FromAnna Dello Russo to Ariana Grande, from Katy Perry to Chiara Ferragni ... Rhianna and Miley as well as my male fans like A$AP Rocky, Bryshere Gray and Justin Beiber.

How did all of this begin? What inspired you to create these hot-off-the-catwalk capsule collections in the first place?
For my debut collection at Moschino I was anxious to get the new voice of the brand out into the world and I was too impatient to wait the six months it would take for the collection to get into the stores. As we control our own manufacturing and distribution, I thought, why not do something new and forward by having the collection available instantly?

What's your favorite part of this craze you've created? What's the most exciting thing for all of you behind the scenes?
I love that it brings the mood and looks from the catwalk to the sidewalk-instantly. The fans that watch the show online and post pics from the catwalk really bring the spirit of the collection home instantly. It's such a pleasure to be able to offer this opportunity.

Tell us about the location of this particular presentation. How do you choose where you're going to stage your shows?
Honestly in Milan there are not a lot of large places to choose from so I st out to find one of the largest to create the car wash catwalk that I concepted for spring. I wanted to have a set that could look like a construction site at first and then for the finale, star the car washing brushes a' spinning and turning and the bubble machine blowing. We really created a cinematic effect for the crescendo of the show.

What do you do after the show to celebrate?
This season I had dinner and drinks with my staff, friends, family and special guests who came out to support the show. There was pasta and champagne and there is music which means there was dancing, too!
