For as long as I can remember, That Special Touch in Pearl, MS has been the place for wedding cakes, groom's cakes, birthday cakes, any cake. I have had my fair share of cakes. And, of course, I have my favorites as well. For 32 years, That Special Touch has been a part of central Mississippi weddings and celebrations. Richard Bailey, owner, and Angela Logan, wedding cake consultant, have helped countless brides and grooms with this special part of their day. I had a chance to sit down with Angela in between brides and wedding cakes and this is what she shared with me:

How did you get started? I have been with the company for 30 years. Richard Bailey, the owner, started the businss after watching his mother do cake for years. My job started as my high school job and after going to college I decided to stay.

What do you like most about what you do? My favorite part of the job is meeting with bride's about their wedding cakes and helping them with the selection to be sure their day is special. It's very rewarding to hear back from them after the wedding. Our goal is to always make every bride feel special.

Tell us about That Special Touch. That Special Touch specializes in custom made wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes and petit fours. Everything is make to order.

If you could give the bride one bit of advice, what would that be? The bride should always remember it's her special day. This is for her and the groom to begin their lifelong journey together. Angela suggests to always limit the number of people at the appointment. Too many opinions always add stress to the bride and make choosing her cake and the decor difficult. What is the saying: too many cooks?

Is there a funny store to share? Angela said she does not a funny store to share but more of a thank you. That Special Touch has been blessed over the last 32 years. We always love to hear that we did the bride or grooms parent's wedding cake. So many of our customers have been repeat customers over the years for many occasions not only wedding cakes but birthday, anniversary, retirement, baby, christenings, graduation, and holidays.
