Intimate City Garden Wedding - Polka Dot Bride

A Tuesday intimate city garden wedding is something a little different than your standard Saturday affair. After meeting and bonding at work, Lilli and Michael wanted to celebrate their marriage with their favourite people in a relaxed setting that was all about their guests. They chose Elleni Toumpas to capture their day.

Of her gown, which was made by Neomi Allen Couture, Lilli tells ,"I wanted something modern, western and elegant but with a whisper of The East. Neomi Allen Couture has brought it to life and her creation was gracefully modern, effortlessly elegant and the perfect harmony of East and West. What stood out to me were the details, the tiny flowers, sewn by hand, with love in every stitch, the pearls, the lace, the collar, all amazing." The groom wore a pale blue Dom Bagnato suit with shoes by Alexander McQueen.

Of their photographer, Lilli tells, "She was professional, talented and easy going. She was more like my best friend than the photographer."

Lilli and Michael chose The Willows for their wedding, marrying in the courtyard before a celebration in the conservatory.

Lilli walked down the aisle to a jazz vocal version (performed by Gemini Melbourne Acoustic Duo) to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters".

Margaret Collier officiated the ceremony, the bride noting, "The ceremony was held in the courtyard of The Willows, under a garden arch decorated with hanging glass orbs with tealights. We wanted to created a ceremony which is intimate, relaxed and uniquely us. We did not included any reading, but Michael (the groom) had written a short story about how we met."

Guests gathered inside the Conservatory for the reception. The couple, not wanting a lot of tradition skipped things like the first dance and instead had things they loved - a photo booth, a champagne tower and a cake and sweet buffet.

Regnier Cakes created the grand table of golden sweet treats including a two tier golden wedding cake.

The floral arrangements and styling for the day was by Victoria Whitelaw, Lilli noting, "She helped me with a lot of styling of the wedding. I enjoyed the whole process. It was wonderful to see your dream wedding turning into reality."

Congratulations on your marriage Lilli and Michael! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Elleni Toumpas for sharing today's wedding!
