Beach Picnic Wedding Inspiration from Tel Aviv | Fly Away Bride

Today we'll take you to Israel: a stunning, mystical country full of history and traditions. It is also a place full of contradictions- on the one hand there's Tel Aviv, a colourful, bohemian city with a positive vibe, great nightlife and thriving art scene. There are also many deserted beaches, sacred places of various religions that have existed for thousands of years. This Jaffa-inspired styled shoot combines these influences using a real couple, newlyweds Rachel and Eran. Rachel, originally from Florida, got to know Eran, a Tel Aviv local, in a bar while teaching English at a school in Israel. The couple are a great illustration of a mix of Jewish culture and traditions with a modern lifestyle, a love of life and a great sense of style. To make the session even more international, the wedding vendors that contributed are from all over the world: Germany, the UK and Israel. They collaborated with the hope of inspiring brides-to-be to combine traditional and modern elements, and to encourage them to throw the net a bit wider when considering wedding destinations. From Carito Photography:

"Jaffa, the birthplace of Tel Aviv, is a coastal town with thousands of years of history. Drawn in by this long history we discovered that Jaffa has not only been mentioned in the Bible a couple of times, but also reached worldwide fame in the late 19th century through the export of oranges. The hills of Jaffa must have been full of orange trees, the scent of orange blossoms present in the little alleys and the port full of stacks of oranges to be shipped away. Influenced by these thoughts we created our version of "Jaffa orange" for this styled shoot. The color palette of orange, sand and green reflect the typical walls of Jaffa streets and orange trees. We also incorporated the fruit into many parts: the patisserie by creating coconut-orange cupcakes, the florals and even into the refreshing cocktail of pomegranate and orange juice for our couple. Eran's modern suit, Rachel's high low dress and her casual updo as well as the watercolour stationery from Farbgold set a modern counterpart to the history-inspired items."
