Modern, Romantic Palm Springs Wedding: Anica + Jonpaul

Modern, Romantic Palm Springs Wedding: Anica + Jonpaul

via

Anica, a producer, and Jonpaul, a photographer, chose to have a mini-destination wedding in Palm Springs, California since their family + friends were already traveling in from all over the country. They wanted their guests to enjoy not only the wedding, but an entire dreamy weekend away, and The O'Donnell House proved to be the perfect place to celebrate the (gorgeous) main event!

They worked alongside Hello Gem, who didn't just plan + design their big day, but crafted the prettiest desert-inspired florals for the occasion. In addition to the expertise Hello Gem brought to the table, A + J and their community of friends were totally hands on, too. Anica shares, We are lucky enough to have a community of creative friends who happily jumped in to make our wedding perfect. They helped us with save the date and invitation designs, envelope calligraphy, screen printing, sweets...even our photos and video! Our friends have always been an important part of our love story so it was really special to have them contribute to our big day. Having non-wedding vendor creatives really brought a fresh and personalized energy to the entire day!

Thanks so much to Wes Sumner for the stunning shots below and congrats to Anica + Jonpaul on their wedding!

We just love A + J's fun invite suite, design by their friend, Danny Jones. The colorful map was hand-drawn by pal, Kenesha Sneed, was printed by Mama's Sauce + calligraphed by Little Cat Creative.

Our wedding was on the same day as a HUGE festival in Palm Springs. Right before our vows you could hear the Calvin Harris song "Feel So Close" playing in the distance at the festival. Before Jonpaul started his vows he paused, looked at me, and said "I feel so close to you right now." Everyone instantly started cracking up. Not only did it remind me that I'm marrying a real gem, but it proved that come what may, your wedding will still be the best day ever. Think of it this way, a few imperfections can be charming

Having their beloved pug, Stella, along for the festivities was a total must!

Anica wore a gorgeous lace Daughters of Simone wedding dress, paired with naturally beautiful hair + makeup by Erica from 1011 Makeup.

The Hello Gem team says, We wanted a soft, romantic, colorful palette that still was fun and unexpected. We designed textural floral and cacti to bring an edge to the table scape. The colored glassware and dip dyed napkins brought a unique depth to the wooden modern tables. We also used geometric sculptures in the table scape to bring another modern element to the table as well as geode table numbers to bring in a natural element. We carried a lot of these elements through out the cake table, rentals, and signage to tie everything together.
