Festival Brides Love: Delightfully Lavish Events

Now, if colour's your thang and you're looking to create an utterly remarkable space for your wedding then my goodness did you click on the right link this morning!

We're spending today with the lovely people from Delightfully Lavish, an events company that hire out their truly astounding Indian marquees (no really, they're handmade in Jaipur! Say whaaaaat?!), with accompanying furniture (also handmade in India!) and/or their South African stretch tents!

To form a space that's like nothing else you've ever seen, awash with colour, authenticity, vibrancy, culture and just straight up fun, y'all need to hit up Delightfully Lavish ...

Before running Delightfully Lavish I (Alex) was a treehouse builder and furniture maker, based on Brighton seafront. I've spent most of my life outdoors and when I wanted a change of scene, working with vibrant and colourful Indian marquees and stunning stretch tents seemed like a cool next step!

Because my work with Delightfully Lavish is seasonal I still get to do quite a bit of carpentry work which I also love and am often asked to do some prop making for the weddings and festivals we work with.

The social side of this job means a lot to me personally and being so closely involved in a couple's wedding is incredibly rewarding when you are able to make such a difference to their big day. Trust is everything. I know I've done a good job when even the mother of the bride is speechless with joy!

Since Nicole jumped ship from publishing and joined me at Delightfully Lavish it has become a real family business and with our two young kids in tow, there's never a dull moment in the run up to our busy summer months!

We worked at quite a few festivals last year!

We loved being involved with the Farr Festival in Hertfordshire, but I think the one I would love to go to the most would be Elderflower Fields in Sussex; a real family festival buried deep in the middle of nowhere. A great chance to unwind with the children in beautiful surroundings with family and friends.

You may have seen some of our lovely Indian tents last year at Henley Regatta or Henley Festival, or maybe one of our stretch tents at Trinity May Ball in Cambridge?

We were chuffed to bits to be asked to create the VIP area at Pride in Brighton last year too. It was a great opportunity for us to show off our most colourful and exotic tents!

More recently we were excited to be involved in our first event in Trafalgar Square for the Chinese New Year celebrations back in February, which was a great success!

We really love the reaction we get to our gorgeous tents. As soon as guests catch a glimpse of our marquees they know that they are in for something a bit special. The fact that they are bespoke and handmade in Jaipur always makes people appreciate the work that has gone into them.

Our tents are all canvas and covered in stunning block printed Indian motifs. We have a massive range of coloured fabrics that can fit in with most people's wedding themes.

Our furniture is also handmade in Rajasthan and has a really genuine character to it. We have spent considerable time carefully sourcing beautiful and interesting accessories that compliment the overall vibe and add a touch of the exotic to every party.

Our South African stretch tents are great for a more festival feel and can easily be joined together to create one very large party canopy.

We are always happy to go that extra mile to help achieve exactly what the couple in question wants. Last year I made a special bar with the couples initials on it as an extra part of the service.

You can always expect an honest friendly voice on the end of the line and lots of creative ideas to help achieve a really unique and personalised wedding.

My motto has always been "Go with your gut feeling!".

When you only have five minutes on the phone with each company, you have to be a great judge of character. This is your big day and you don't want the wrong person dictating to you!

The questions you should ask yourself are: Can I work with this person? Do they sound friendly and amenable? Are they well organised and professional? Am I happy with their prices? Will they pull out all the stops to make my big day a real success?

If yes to the above, then run with it!

Don't be afraid to think outside the box and prepare to be Delighted !

You can come see our lovely tents for yourselves and meet us in person on Sunday 29th May at this year's Bohemian Dreams Wedding Festival (also known as Boshow!) in the remarkable Cathedral of Trees in Milton Keynes.

Sure to transport you and your guests to someplace a little exotic, what's not to love!? You can find them in our festival wedding directory right now!

Peace + Love

Clare XO
