Kiss Me On The Trail

After offering a bunch of different suggestions as to where to do their engagment photos, Loida & Mike insisted we use the Cross in Ventura. I wasn't happy. One thing I hold dear is using locations which take advantage of natural surroundings, potential good light, minimal backgrounds, little public interference and the potential for a variety of photos. This spot has NONE of those, but it had sentimental qualities to them, so I obliged. Once again there were NO clouds in the sky, so I put them in a variety of locations near and away from the tall cross and did my best to make them feel comfortable as well as play with the light and location. I'm always up for a good challenge and it's a great confidence-booster when you get praise for a shoot when you didn't expect it. Packing them all in before May when I go on paternity leave.
