Liz + Ryan tied the knot at Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas, Texas, where the landscape is filled with native Texas plants and the building itself is stylishly modern. They incorporated birds into their wedding to honor their venue + love of nature, and BONUS!! They had real live owls join in at their cocktail hour!

Liz tells us, Our main inspiration would have to be our love and our relationship over the past 6 years. Everything from our first date to our life that we've created with one another almost telling our story of how we fell in love. From music to nature we incorporated many things that say a lot about us. We wanted a feel of soft romance mixed with a very organic vibe relating to nature allowing the setting to feel more natural and inviting. We also incorporated our love for music and memories from our first couple of dates. The day was truly a celebration of us and we really made it our own.

Our most memorable moment would have to be the first look. Seeing each other for the first time and having that bit of intimacy before the madness was pretty memorable and special. I couldn't wait for him to see me and I him and for us to have that time together beforehand helped ease our nerves. Another great memory that I cannot fail to mention is Ryan's alarm going off during the ceremony. It was the alarm for our diabetic cat to get her insulin. His face was priceless and I couldn't keep from telling everyone what it was for and that our cat was sorry she couldn't make it to the wedding.

Get a wedding planner! If I could do it all over again I would get a planner. It allows you time to really enjoy the process of planning your wedding and provides guidance while keeping your organized. Also, make it about the two of you. What you love and your personalities. Really let that show through each detail. It's so much fun including little details that complement your love. Also, invest in a good photographer. Photographs are forever and if you can get a videographer! I can't tell you how many times I've looked at our video and all of our pictures. And don't forget that there are no rules! This is YOUR day and if you want to get married in the middle of the desert wearing a bikini go for it!
