Celeste & Brian | Seersucker Wedding at Bartram’s Garden

Celeste & Brian | Seersucker Wedding at Bartram’s Garden

Let’s make summer last just a little longer with this romantic botanical wedding from Love Me Do Photography. Seersucker suits, cascading vines, homemade limoncello, all in the country’s oldest botanical garden tucked away in the city of Philadelphia…

Trailing vines add drama to Celeste’s cascading bouquet of clematis, peonies, roses. Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bride’s all-white bouquet.

The bride sourced a vintage church candle stand for ceremony. Escorted by her father, she walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Bride played by a solo trumpet.

Groomsmen wore seersucker slacks with navy blue blazers. Bridesmaids wore ivory dresses of their choosing.

Perseverance Jazz Band played during the cocktail hour through dinner.

Bottles of homemade limoncello did double duty as favors and escort cards.

Centerpieces were a mix of bud vases and rustic wood planter boxes filled with white flowers, ivy, and other foliage. The flower boxes were one of the couple’s DIY projects, as were lace table runners and all of the stationery.

How’s this for a totally unique and super fun idea? At the end of the reception, guests danced with white parasols, echoing the Philadelphia tradition of the Mummers Parade.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  We picked Bartram’s Garden because of the rustic garden setting and its close proximity to Center City. We were also surprised and happy to discover that it is the oldest botanical garden in the country!

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We wanted a romantic rustic, country wedding tucked away in the city. Our colors were ivory, and greens and browns. I was inspired by lace, seersucker, twine, burlap, candlelight.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  Hearing the wedding vows that we wrote for one another.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  It sounds simple, but enjoy the wedding day! Stop worrying about all the details and moving pieces, and cherish all the little moments.

What advice do you have for other brides?  You can’t start planning soon enough, particularly if you want to have your first choice of venue and vendors!

Do you have any budget tips for other brides?  If you start early enough in the process, certainly try to DIY as much as you can – though don’t leave too much to do towards the end, and make sure you don’t have any responsibilities on the wedding day itself.
