When it comes to wedding inspiration palettes, there are a few colours that I tend to shy away from. Yellow, orange and purple would be the three main shades that leave me feeling a little nervous! They are just out of my comfort zone and I'm never too confident with them or where to take them, so I generally just avoid at all costs. When pantone announced radiant orchid as their colour of the year for 2014, I knew I was going to start seeing a lot more of this pretty purple shade on pinterest and was actually quite relieved as I felt I could do with a few lessons in colour! I have a beautiful wedding coming up later this year and the bride has chosen lilac as her primary hue so I've known for a while that I was going to have to break out of my colouring box at some point during the year to start experimenting and producing ideas for her colour scheme. Now that we are well in April, I figured I better get going. Over the last few weeks I have been playing with purple and radiant orchid wedding inspiration and I have to say, I am thoroughly enjoying it - way more than I thought I would! It's playful and sweet, very feminine and actually, it goes very handsomely with a myriad of colours. Today, I'm sharing my first board with you and hopefully there will be many more to come. I have a real fondness for peach and blush and I wanted to start with something a little familiar to me and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
