From Kendra and Matthew at Summer Street Photography: " To many holding a wedding in freezing temperatures seems out of the question, but to Minnesota brides, who are accustomed to living and thriving in the ice and snow, a soiree under a canopy of frosted trees seems just about perfect and maybe even a bit magical. We were inspired by our Midwest home and created a rustic, elegant wedding that centers around what every Minnesota girl is in her heart, at least for 6 months out of the year, a Snow Queen. To compliment her regality and delicacy, we adorned our Queen in silk chiffon and fur and set her among the elements of her wintery forest kingdom. We incorporated antlers, raw wood, iron flatware, and rich greens and flowers to make her party rustic and timeless. Drawing from the flavors that comfort us most in the colder months, we served handmade berry galettes, chestnuts, and artisan cheeses and bread. The cake was a delicious combination of flavors that celebrates the coziness of winter and the hope of the spring to come, ginger spice topped with sugared cherries. As we believe that every bride should feel like a Queen on her wedding day, we focused on simplicity, elegance, and natural textures for our forest celebration, and allowed the inherent beauty of love in winter to shine."
