Admittedly it has been a little while since I made cakes and cookies with little people but I still enjoy baking myself and remember only too well what fun I used to have with my son making and more importantly decorating whatever we had created.

I was lucky enough to go along to a special icing evening at The Biscuiteers recently and had a go at replicating some of their wonderful iced biscuits myself... I can tell you it is much harder than it looks, but I did find out about some fabulous events that the expert icers run especially for children!

At the School of Icing, your Little Biscuiteers can learn how to ice like a professional with all the biscuits, icing and edible decorations they need. You only need to book for a minimum of four children - believe me, you will have a long queue of volunteers - and during the hour session they will learn to fashion amazing iced creations to take home along with a special certificate of excellence AND a Biscuiteers apron!

If your little ones get hooked on the idea after this, why not book a longer session (2 hours) as a birthday or end of term party perhaps? As well as icing enough biscuits to fill a tin to take home, they will also all receive a certificate and apron and, in the case of birthday parties, a special cake will be provided along with food, decorations and invitations if required
