Henry VIII Meets Game of Thrones Castle Inspired Wedding -...

via

Game of Thrones fans take note, this will be just the wedding to get you excited today. I am a huge fan of Game of Thrones having read a couple of the books myself and kept up to date with the TV series (" You know nothing, Jon Snow "). As do this lovely bride and groom who took the series as a theme for their wedding alongside a touch of Henry VIII.

Natalie and Alexander were married on the 7 th April 2015 at Notley Abbey in Buckinghamshire. GOT touches included one of my all time favourite love quotes " You are the moon of my life, my sun and stars " which made an appearance alongside dragon egg favours and 'family house' table names. Genius. There were pretty pink maids and divine florals alongside a gorgeous bride in groom in timelessly beautiful attire.

Many thanks to Clare Tam-Im Photography for sharing these wonderful images today.

THE PROPOSAL | In Scotland at the top of Craigendarroch Hill overlooking the mountains.

THE VISION | Henry VIII meets Game of thrones castle theme.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Inspiration and ideas came from Game of Thrones, The Tudors, visits to stately homes/castles and the one and only PINTEREST!

BUDGET | £20,000

THE VENUE | Notley Abbey, Thame.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress was from the Sincerity range, from Bride to be, St Albans Road, Watford. Lace and bead detail with pretty sleeves. Veil with diamanté made and designed by my mother in law worn with a pretty silver headband. Necklace from Tiffany bought from the groom as a wedding gift and a Pandora bracelet from a friend as a wedding present. Pretty silver sandals bought on the highstreet.

FINDING THE DRESS | First shop, the fourth dress I tried on. I fell in love!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Navy blue, slim fit suit with waistcoat, pink tie and brown shoes. He wore a silver pocket watch bought as a wedding gift from the bride.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | The couples ultimate favourite "Einaudi" played as the bride walked down the aisle. First reading was a poem from the brides closest friends about the bride and groom called "I do, I do, I do! Adapted to suit the couple. The second reading was written by the bride's dearest and extremely talented friend Sara Symons about "Love". Best friend of the groom and opera singer Charlotte sung "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal and "Song Bird" by Eva Cassidy as the register was signed. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams played as the couple walked down the aisle. Game of Thrones music and Epic movie inspired music played as guest entered the reception.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Dressed in beautiful baby pink dress, pink strappy sandal and silver vintage combs in their hair.

THE FLOWERS | Pink and white roses, hydrangeas, peonies, tulips.

THE CAKE | Pink and white cupcakes.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Clare Tam-Im Photography - we can't stop looking at the photos. They are gorgeous!!!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Candles in jars created a trail to the wedding reception. Each table had large silver candelabras with flowers decorated around them. Each guest had their own place card with SER or LADY in front of their name. Each guest had a hessian bag filled with small eggs with a label that said dragon eggs on it as favours.

THE HONEYMOON | All inclusive trip to Mexico for two weeks.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Walking down the aisle and my husband to be saying "Phowwww !!" very loudly as I reached the register.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy every minute of it. It will be the best day of your life!!!
