Winter Geode Wedding Inspiration Featuring Emily Riggs Bridal

Winter Geode Wedding Inspiration Featuring Emily Riggs Bridal

The premise behind today's gorgeous shoot, captured beautifully by Corbin Gurkin, is connected to designer, Emily Riggs ', inspiration for her latest dress collection. Each gown was inspired by different types of semi precious stones, therefore the creative team behind the editorial you're about to see was excited to work with darker and moodier earthy elements, like crystals and geodes, to bring it all full circle.

Styled by Duet Weddings, we adore the raw, yet refined setting, and think Emily's dresses work just as perfectly in this atmosphere as they would in any expected wedding environment. Emily shares, The Delphina gown was inspired by one of my favorite stones "Chrysoprase". It uses a muted pistachio Italian crepe satin and a silk charmeuse lining adorned with layers of French silk tulle. The lace used for the top was sourced during my trip to Paris. Then there's the Amethyst gown. Each layer is a different shade of amethyst. The beautiful backdrop was inspired by a beautiful wall mural I found on Pinterest. It was hand painted by Corbin's amazingly talented friend Natalie Taylor Humphrey.

Looking for geodes + stones for your day? The team shares, The stones were sourced via a combination of Corbin's own collection, Etsy and various boutiques in Los Angeles.

In addition to stunning wedding dresses, Emily designs the most ethereal dressing gowns + robes for the bride to wear while getting ready, on her honeymoon, or anytime she wants to feel feminine, sexy and endearingly chic.

We love how each dress is a true work of art and unique unto itself. Rebekah Carey of A & B Creative wardrobe styled this editorial, and chose such a beautiful selection of dresses to showcase.

The detail on the Arabesque gown is beyond incredible!

Selva Floral Design crafted the amazing, textural florals.

On the beautifully simplistic tablescape, Duet Weddings says, We used geodes and minimalist earthy leaf stems for decor instead of floral centerpieces. We were so excited about those leaves that we sourced at a local nursery (a great source of inspiration, by the way...we love peeking around nurseries for interesting plants and blooms!) They were the exact shade we were looking for and the plant itself was called "amethyst!" We really wanted to avoid bringing in florals onto the table - we felt they would compete too much with the true 'star' of the tables, the geodes! Instead, we chose to compliment them using really simple, single leaves in a clean, clear glass.

We all know that pretty food + drink can go a long way in making a setting feel special. We adore the look of the cocktail above, a salt-rimmed Paloma (featuring tequila, grapefruit juice, and a splash of soda) + the stunning geode cake below by Sainte G. Cake Company.

Thanks so much to Emily Riggs for sharing her gorgeous dresses with us today, and to the entire team below for creating such a stunning + inspiring editorial!
