There is something undeniably romantic about an intimate wedding surrounded by those closest to your heart. Jeaninne and Dan's beautiful elegant celebration, held at Fathom Gallery, was the perfect balance of classic and modern. The cozy rooftop dinner was so inviting and warm, allowing the couple the chance to spend time with their 50 guests. From the custom stationary and calligraphy to the delectable dessert menu, this intimate wedding is such a wonderful treat.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? My main source of inspiration when planning the wedding was wedding blogs. The blogs really helped me focus my vision, style and pull everything together. And of course all of my amazing vendors offered ideas and took it to the next level!

What was the best advice you received as a bride? The best advice that I received was to relax, don't stress and enjoy the planning process. But of course I didn't follow that advice.

What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding? Enjoy the planning process and don't forget what the day is really about!

The Ceremony

"We chose Fathom Gallery for our ceremony and reception. Dan and I fell in love with the beautiful roof deck with its lush greenery, pear trees and the modern feel of the inside gallery with exposed brick. We instantly knew this was where we would be married. Coincidently, we realized after we booked Fathom; that we were just a couple blocks from where we had our first date."

Your ceremony in three words. Intimate, loving, personal.

How did you go about planning your ceremony? It was important to us to have a traditional ceremony. Our officiant provided the layout but we were able to personalize it with readings and information that we provided to Father Mudd about each other. Our guests loved hearing what we had to say about each other and our hopes for the future.

Who officiated your ceremony? How did you choose him/her? Father John Mudd was our officiant. We met him through my friend's father-they attended highschool together. The funny part is that we actually met Father Mudd at a wine bar when he was out with my friend's father. At the end of the night he jumped into an uber to go home. When it was time to pick an officiant, we knew we had our guy!

What were your ceremony readings? Colossians 3:12-15, Ruth 1:16-17

What were your vows like? Traditional and classic.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony? My favorite part of the wedding ceremony was when Dan got teary eyed saying his vows to me. I felt so loved, blessed and grateful to be standing there with him in front of our families and friends.

The Reception

"Our reception was very small, elegant and intimate. We tried to really incorporate small thoughtful details for our guests. It gave us a chance to really spend time with all our guests and to actually eat before the dancing."

Did you have a signature cocktail? Our signature cocktail was a modified Moscow Mule inspired by one of our favorite DC restaurants that shared their recipe with us. We named it "The Stitch" after our Yorkshire Terrier.

What was your wedding menu? We wanted to serve a delicious seasonal spring menu. Guests had a choice of Halibut with salsify puree or Beef Tenderloin with charred spring onion. To accompany each entrée there was crispy potatoes and grilled asparagus with lemon zest. The first course was a salad of locally grown lettuces and spring vegetables offered with a cheese board of Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland Farmhouse cheeses.

What type of cake or dessert did you serve? We had a dessert bar with mini pies, goat cheesecake, s'more parfaits, budino bites and champagne crème brulee. Our cake was coconut cake with lemon buttercream and white chocolate mousse and devils food cake with Nutella buttercream, espresso buttercream and fudge.

What was your favorite moment or part of the reception? The toasts during dinner was my favorite part of the reception. Each of our brothers stood up and gave really heartfelt toasts to us. It meant a lot to both of us since we are so close with our siblings. Dan also gave a toast to thank all of our guests and families for their support, I thought that was a very nice touch. Another favorite part for me was our sparkler send off at the end of the night on 14th Street.

What was your first dance song? "We Have All the Time In the World" by Louis Armstrong.

If you had it to do over again, is there anything you would do differently? Nope, we wouldn't change a thing.
