Modern Los Angeles Rooftop Wedding: Sara + Zach

Modern Los Angeles Rooftop Wedding: Sara + Zach

via

Sara + Zach coined the nickname "Bear Team" after working together in a restaurant in LA and becoming an amazing pair in work, in dating, and in life :) Because the name stuck, they decided to incorporate a few fun "Bear-inspired" details (wax seals on their invites, custom "Bear Team" shirts, gummy bear filled hotel baskets and, of course, a #bearteamwedding hashtag) into their stunning Koreatown, Los Angeles rooftop wedding, and we're loving every bit of it! Below, Sara describes the day in more detail, then it's onto the gorge photos captured by Jenny Smith & Co.!

Above all else we wanted the wedding to be a celebration of love with the people that we love. The goal was to create a relaxed, honest and fun environment for us and our favorite people. Anyone who knows us is aware of our appreciation for food, music, and wine; and it was important to us that the wedding felt representative of who we are in an authentic way. Our first date was at a sports bar, OB Bear, in Koreatown - a mere 9 blocks from the wedding location. The Hotel Normandie is a gorgeous, restored hotel from the 1920's adorned with original wood floors, doors, and the dreamiest vaulted ceilings. We called on friends to contribute to the collaborative menu, create signature cocktails and rock funky jazz music during our reception. The goal was to throw our best dinner party yet.

Because Sara grew up in Oregon, around the lush topography of the Pacific Northwest, she was obsessed with the idea of featuring only greens in contrast to the white and black attire of her + Zach and the wedding party. The colorful K-town skyline was definitely an added bonus, too!

Commerce Flowers is responsible for these beautiful greenery pieces!

We love, love, love that Sara's ladies wore white jumpsuits instead of a traditional "bridesmaid dress"! You can shop this look (which is also perfect for all those warm, summer days up ahead) in our guide below:

Sara tells us, From the florals to the table settings, we wanted to honor California agriculture with vibrant bursts of color. The bold orange of fresh persimmons popped on the place settings, surrounded by lush greenery and citrine crystals.
