I just love the decadence, atmosphere and glamour of these wedding ideas.

Inspired by a speakeasy 1920s feel, there were dark tones, with lush blooms and stylish stationery. The chocolate wedding cake was a masterpiece and I just love a Jenny Packham gown. Inspiration perfect for a winter wedding day.

"The Milk Thistle and The Ox are sister venues situated close together in the historic part of Bristol. The Ox is a romantic underground restaurant and The Milk Thistle is a cocktail bar spread over three floors. The owner described the interior as: "It's like going to your crazy uncle's as a child and getting lost in all the wonderful eccentric items he's collected from his travels." The feeling you get from both these venues is one of romance, decadence and fun. So this is what I wanted to incorporate into the shoot.I'm very lucky, as being a freelance wedding coordinator I'm always surrounded by clever, creative peeps, so it wasn't hard selecting the suppliers to work with on this shoot. Bristol has a big wedding community and we all help each other as much as we can. A 1920/30′s dress was a must, and with our beautiful model Nadia as a tall as she is, a long following gown was in order. So, The Mews Bridal Gowns of Clifton Village picked out 'Blaire' from Jenny Packham's 2013 collection. New to the wedding scene is 'Ruby and the Wolf'. We met at a tweet-up and when I saw her dark tones and unusual wedding floristry I knew she would be perfect for the kookiness of the venue. She co-styled the shoot on the day and brought in berries that added opulence. She has such an incredible eye for detail. Hair was a modern take on a 20′s style, making it looser and softer. Hayley is a hugely experienced hairstylist and created a look that held all day. Just what a bride needs.We started with neutral make-up, but with everything else so dark and heavy Claire suggested darkening the make-up to compliment - and so it did! Nadia looked incredibly beautiful.I'd started a Pinterest board, as is the done thing now, and Lizzy May from Lizzy May Designs came up with stationery that started getting our imaginary guests in the mood for this wedding, and my gosh!.. it surpassed my expectations and beyond. The 'save the date' was in a vintage gin bottle (one of my favourite details), the menus were round and super sweet. Everywhere I looked I was like 'oh wow!' I think we all spent the whole day 'ooooing' and 'ahhing' over all of each others' work.The other Lizzy we had on the day turned up with chocolates. Chocolates for breakfast? When they are Lizzy's from Chocolate Delores you don't care that it's only breakfast time; in fact I didn't care for 'time' at all when I popped that chocolate in my mouth. She is one very talented lady and this is all said before I've even talked about what it looked like. Lizzy is a classic chocolatetier, able to create anything you could possibly dream of. Her creation for the shoot of white chocolate, roses, skull heads and flowers was mind-blowing. The pictures speak for themselves.As clement weather is never guaranteed in this country, what with winter taking up half the year, I hope this bridal shoot has shown brides that romance doesn't have to wait till summer, but rather it leaves them with a feeling that it can be created any time and anywhere."
