Glen and Valentina met through a mutual friend, but at the time Valentina didn't see their platonic relationship going any further. "I had just gotten out of a long-term relationship and I didn't think I was in the right mindset to be in a relationship because I was 23," she explains. "A few weeks after we met, he found me on Facebook and relentlessly asked me out on dates. I finally settled on a study date, and found I was instantly attracted to this man across the table. I literally didn't read past the first chapter of my text book! We've been inseparable ever since."

Valentina and Glen had an intimate gathering with about 50 guests in attendance for their simple, classic wedding at the Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver, British Columbia. "We had such a great officiant who had such inspiring words for us and our family to listen to," shares Valentina. "When Glen recited his vows to me, I was taken aback because he isn't a very serious man, but all the promises he made to me that day made me fall in love with him all over again." After the ceremony, everyone was invited outside for prosecco and delicious appetizers as groups of family members were rounded up for photos.

The dinner ensued promptly afterwards where guests were treated to towers of fresh seafood such as oysters, red tuna, salmon tartar, sushi rolls, prawns, and scallop ceviche. "The main plates were to die for!" Valentina explains. "Everyone raved about the food." The reception area had the dinner tables set up in a family-style configuration with simple black and white decor. White floral arrangements decorated the dining tables alongside dozens of tea lights that added warmth to the room.
