As my grandma used to say 'one point of view depends on the point where one sits'. I didn't agree with this saying until I literally saw it in person. I'm obviously talking about Inverted Bookshelves. At first I was deceived by this design but when I looked from a different angle I was able to see the trick.

There's also some magic in Floating Shelves presented on Four Generations One Roof. What makes these shelves practical is the illusion that the space looks larger. Jessica, the creator of the idea, says the design is extremely functional in cramped rooms such as bathrooms or toilets. They may also turn out to be equally useful when you want fill in a spare alcove.
