Loving the gold trend, but aren't really a black and white kinda gal? We've got two color palettes today that are a softer option to the popular black, white, and gold. The first is using aqua and gold for an elegant, but upbeat vibe. The second is gold with a deep navy blue that is all about formal sophistication.

Aqua is such a peppy color and blends really well with golden details. Above, the aqua napkins pick up the blue shade of the succulents and when combined with golden candlesticks and chargers, make the whole table glow!

Adding gold flecks to bridesmaid dresses (below) is a super alternative to sequins when you want a gown that is a bit "sparkly" on your favorite friends.

Not that a buttercream cake needs to be more decadent than it already is, but these gold flakes dusted along the tops of each layer are absolutely spellbinding!

We also love this chevron design below paired with aqua brunia berries and ribbon.

When it comes to waterfront weddings, few color palettes will blend in as beautifully with your surroundings as aqua and gold. We love this soft watercolor invite with gold script below for a beachy event. And this gilded aqua tufted chair (below, right) would be so sweet to use for the sweethearts' table at a lake house wedding!

But if you want more stately drama, then you should definitely consider pairing gold with a vibrant navy. As you can see from this invitation suite below, it's a match made in heaven.

Our favorite thing about this color combo is how flexible it can be with just about any wedding theme. Whether you are opting for preppy, modern, traditional, or Art Deco, this color palette is flawless. Use gold frames to set against navy linens for the signage on your welcome and sweet tables (below).

For table decor, find navy designs and paint over them with glittering gold ink. While you can do this yourself if you have a steady hand, you may want to consider hiring a calligrapher to manage writing such a pretty script.

Practical brides will appreciate the wide availability of navy linens through most rental companies. Use navy for whatever items you can rent and then fill in with metallic details, such as these gold rimmed plates and chargers below. If you can find them, using golden flatware is also a beautiful touch (above, right).
